The corrupt pardon phase of the transition

There is a nexus between Manafort breaking the law and Trump's pardon. It's separated between two work products of Mueller, but it exists. (Thread.)

The only juror who spoke publicly after the jury convicted Manafort said: it would be a mistake for Trump to pardon him. The juror said she left her MAGA hat in her car and followed the law, the facts, and her oath.

Easy enough to beat Trump at his game: put Stone and Manafort in the grand jury after 1/20/21 to get at what they have hidden from the government about Trump- and if they then lie, they can be prosecuted for perjury and obstruction.

The fifth amendment issue is a non issue. Yes, those pardoned may still have a colorable fifth amendment claim but, even if they do, the government can immunize them and require them to testify in the grand jury. If they then lie they face criminal prosecution.

The pardons from this President are what you would expect to get if you gave the pardon power to a mob boss.
