Now that Bennett has irrevocably burnt his bridges with Netanyahu, the entire Bibi-machine is focusing everything on Ayelet Shaked. Nothing is holy. They’re using every rabbi to bless and curse, every memory and myth of national heroes, every temptation and threat, to get at her.

Netanyahu, with good reason, has identified Shaked as the weakest link of the Bennett-Lapid coalition. He’s preying on her fears and her vanity. It’s probably too late, as he and his wife have done so much to humiliate her in the past, but he’s going to keep up the pressure.

And even if the coalition agreements are all signed and sealed today or tomorrow, as is looking increasingly likely, the pressure on Shaked will continue until the very last minute before the inaugural confidence vote in the new government next week. Netanyahu has targeted her.
